Energy Checking – do you have a systemic disturbance?

What is Energy Checking?

Think of trying to tune in TV or radio to a specific station, but the antenna can’t pick up the signal and all you get it white noise.

In Energy Psychology we use energy checking techniques to ‘tune’ your system so that you return to harmony, and connect fully to life. Often when we are distressed or live with a chronic condition it can feel that we are out of harmony or disconnected from the world.

Energetic interference is a systemic disturbance of the whole person. This disturbance can make it extremely difficult or even impossible to identify the most useful psychological issues for that client. I would suggest that this is why so many chronic health conditions continue for years without respite.

How do I know if I have energetic interference?

Common indicators that your energy system may be disturbed are:

  • Constrained gait
  • Confusion or flooding
  • Chronic sleep disturbance
  • Chronic sadness
  • Chronic pain
  • OCD
  • Dissociation
  • A chronic pattern of accidents
  • Inner emptines
  • Lack of coordination

What causes a systemic disturbance?

It can be a number of things depending on the client. Common factors can be, environmental toxins, sustained stress, food allergies or something we normally wouldn’t consider, like tube travel. We are not designed to be underground, packed in like sardines, it is not our natural state! I know every time I travel on the tube that my system is ‘scrambled’ afterwards. I always takes steps to balance myself during travel and when I arrive – luckily it is quick and easy to do.

Why is energy checking useful?

Having a systemic disturbance usually prevents effective treatment and often inhibits long term effectiveness of treatments. This can be why many chronic conditions or emotional states can feel like they are ‘stuck’ and won’t shift no matter what we do to help ourselves. However if we work on our energy system alongside other treatments (such as talk therapy) we can really help our whole system to repair.

The good news is that energy interference like this can usually be quickly and gently rectified with simple energy checking protocols and techniques. Working with a skilled practitioner, these can be done in a few minutes at the beginning of a treatment session.

Also, just like going to the gym, the more you use these exercises, the stronger and more resilient your energy system becomes.  This simple treatment dimension prepares a client’s system to respond efficiently and to fully benefit  from treatment.

How do we remove interference?

We can remove any energetic interference with simple energy exercises, combined with the breath and tapping techniques that are easily taught and can be taken home to use at any time.

These methods can also be used prior to any type of treatment in order to enhance effectiveness. They can also be used frequently as relaxation tools and as a useful ‘MOT’ for the energy system.

For example I do a morning energy routine every day, and often between clients to keep my system in balance. This takes me approximately 6 minutes, and its really fun!
