Coming Home to Self: A Trauma Recovery Retreat Day

A heart jigsaw being put together to symbolise Trauma Recovery at katemunden.com

Introducing a unique integrative therapy intensive workshop for mind, body and spirit, based on leading-edge mental health and energy psychology techniques.

If there is one simple statement that can be made about traumatic events, it is that the repercussions have harsh staying power. The cells, synapses and psyche are all shaken from their smooth pre-trauma functioning into the stressful misfires of post-traumatic stress and dysfunction. Whether the origin of a traumatic event is carried from childhood, inherited from one’s ancestors, sustained through violence, abuse, an accident, or whether it is shocked into being through a group-shared natural disaster or act of mass violence, one thing is clear:

The symptoms associated with unhealed trauma rob people, families and communities of the ability to live healthy, peaceful and productive lives.

Coming Home To Self: Integrative Therapies Help You Safely Process a Broad Range of Traumas

Leading experts in Traumatology agree that traditional talk therapy is inadequate in treating clients with PTSD and CPTSD. This trauma recovery program has been created to safely, therapeutically and comprehensively address the needs of traumatized individuals through a powerful blend of proven modalities that work directly with all systems of the body.

Coming Home to Self uses a carefully designed and safely-paced curriculum of Energy Psychology Techniques called “Soul Tapping” TM which includes EFT and TFT, and EMDR. It also integrates Hypnotherapeutic Dialogue with the Nervous System, Imagery Transformation Tapping, somatically-based Trauma Release Exercises and Limbic System Constellation Work. Each of these modalities alone is profoundly impactful during individual therapy, but when combined in an intensive retreat-like setting, they tap into the healing potential of the whole Being and allow adequate time for processing and integration that is unheard of in a typical therapeutic hour. Using this combination of modalities, we have observed that people are guided out of the constricted fight/flight/freeze mode in which they have been living, and into a more open, relaxed state of comfort in their bodies, with a greater ability to stay present in the moment, and with a greater ability to find more choices to respond to their environment.

Spanning a long weekend, from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon,Coming Home To Self, yields holistic, measurable results.

The workshop is designed to assist participants to:

  • Let go of the trauma that is mentally, physically and emotionally trapped in the body
  • Return their consciousness to the body, feeling present, grounded and safe
  • Experience a resetting of the nervous system with a return to homeostasis and the restoration of neuro-plasticity
  • Feel empowered to make choices as they reconnect with their internal locus of control
  • Learn to speak their truth
  • Restore cognitive clarity and decision-making abilities
  • Regain a sense of vitality and hope- a sure sign that they are on the journey from victim to survivor, and from survivor to thriver.

Participants process and release the paralysing emotions, painful body memories, trapped traumatic energy, limiting beliefs and the debilitating thought loops that comprise their “internal image of trauma”, all while learning coping skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
