Known as ‘pure’ or ‘to purify’ this Chakra works to a much larger scale and has 7 channels radiating from it associating to the other Chakras. It is the base of communication and the centre of expression. Energy here is often stronger in middle age when we feel more able to express our deeper needs and our weaknesses with strength, honesty and creativity. Vishuddha also strengthens our ability to say ‘no’, to set verbal boundaries and to align publicly with our inner truth.

When this Chakra is open we feel comfortable speaking our truth and confident in the value of our voice being heard…and to know when it is appropriate to be silent.

Opening this Chakra brings clarity, compassion and integrity. To speak, to hear and to be heard, to write with inspiration and imagination. To listen clearly and also to remember well, and perhaps to experience telepathy.

Many spiritual traditions believe this is the true spiritual connection and how the divine comes to us. A sense of integrity and deep joy can be found here.

Advice to support Throat Chakra

Breath the colour pale blue in and out of this Chakra, work bigger, give it more time and attention. Imagine a spinning blue vortex radiating out clockwise front and back.

Wear Turquoise Blue and when you can absorb the beauty of a clear blue sky, or moonlight on water.

Know that you can communicate your deepest wisdom to those in your life and also with yourself. Reflect on what you say and how you say it.

Take time to listen to your inner voice every day to bring your voice forward. Try to speak from the heart, and notice the different impact of your voice when you do.
