How do I learn the TRE exercises?

When we learn to use the TRE exercises and find our natural tremor, old patterns of tension are released without us having to ‘work at it’. This allows the individual to feel, sense and inhabit their body without having to ‘think themselves’ there.

You can ‘let go’ and let your body do the talking.

Feelings of defeat, hopelessness and helplessness are often replaced by confidence, empowerment and hope.

I offer individual consultations to clients to help them understand trauma and the body. This assists them to recover from overwhelming experiences.

This can be overwork, build up of stress, PTS symptoms, emotional abuse, birth trauma, infertility, accidents, insomnia, domestic abuse, depression etc. I teach you how to use the TRE exercises to find your innate tremor mechanism and re-balance your body-mind system.

Individual Sessions

Individual TRE sessions are 1.5 hours. You will need to wear loose fitting clothing and it is advisable to only eat a light meal before you practice TRE.

I will provide water, a yoga mat and blankets/props where needed.

An individual session includes:

  • Basic client history and what bought you to TRE
  • A thorough grounding concepts of TRE and tremors
  • Grounding the body before we start
  • Learning the TRE exercises (which are very simple)
  • All the TRE exercises can be adapted to suit any age or body
  • Finding your tremors and allowing your body to shake at the pace that is right for you
  • Full, deep relaxation and integration
  • Feedback and discussion

Will I find my tremors? Will it work for me?

Many clients ask this! A lot of people think that they won’t be able to find their tremors or that their body ‘wont work’. Everyone I have worked with in a class or a private sessions has found their tremor.

There is no right or wrong way to shake, it is your individual body expression and it is always a privilege to observe.

What are the tremors like?

Tremors can show up as shaking, vibrating, pulsing, twitching, tingling or tiny internal movements or sensations that I can’t see but you can feel. Movements can be big or small and usually feel very pleasant.

The aim of TRE is to be present and aware of all your sensations. If it feels like its going too fast, then we slow it down.  It is not a race or a catharsis, we are creating space to listen to our bodies. Tremors generally start in the legs an pelvis, but can show up anywhere. There is no right or wrong way to shake.

TRE Groups & Workshops

At TRE Groups we follow the same pattern as individual sessions with added group relaxation or guided meditation.  My groups are always very slow, gentle, relaxed and informal. We usually have about 6-10 in a group.

One of the great benefits of shaking in a group is that TRE is a great leveller – we ALL have a shake.

Clients often report less stress overall in life, deeper longer sleep, loss of chronic pain and tension and even better sex lives as their bodies let go of decades of tightly held tension.

TRE is an amazing, deeply natural conversation with your body and applicable to everyone. I run a regular monthly group in South East London (currently online) to book click HERE
